Bryan Matemba is a Legal Intern who brings a stellar academic record and high-level practical experience in commercial litigation and appellate research. A rigorous and detail-oriented professional, Bryan supports the firm’s complex mandates across the Energy, Banking, and Corporate departments, as well as its Dispute Resolution practice.

Prior to joining RBGLP, Bryan honed his skills as a Legal Assistant and Researcher at Ngosas & Associates Legal Practitioners, where he supported Senior Counsel in high-volume civil, commercial, and public law matters. His experience includes drafting commercial contracts, legal opinions, and preliminary pleadings, as well as managing complex case files and court registry filings.

Notably, Bryan served as an Executive Legal Research Assistant to Prof. Justice Phillip Musonda, a sitting Judge of the Court of Appeal of Lesotho. In this elite capacity, he gained rare insight into appellate court procedures, assisting with case hearings, legal research, and the drafting of judgments. This background has equipped him with advanced skills in comparative legal analysis and litigation strategy.

Bryan also possesses experience in SME Advisory, having provided business law guidance and dispute resolution support through the University Legal Aid Clinic.

Bryan holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) with Distinction from Cavendish University Zambia. He distinguished himself as the Best Graduating Student of the Class of 2022, receiving the Certificate of Merit for best student in the Bachelor of Laws program.

His academic prowess is evidenced by consistent distinctions in core modules including Commercial Law, Company Law, Law of Contract, and Alternative Dispute Resolution. Additionally, Bryan demonstrated his advocacy skills on the international stage as a participant in the prestigious XVII K.K. Luthra Memorial Moot Court Competition at the University of Delhi.

Currently fulfilling the practical requirements for enrolment at the Zambia Institute of Advanced Legal Education (ZIALE), Bryan is committed to delivering “top-tier” client service. He combines a strong work ethic with a growing expertise in energy resources and infrastructure, positioning him as a valuable asset to the firm’s forward-thinking legal team.
